HSM employs a talented pool of designers, art directors, editors, copy editors and repro artists who work across our diverse range of magazines and digital products. We have a formidable advertising sales team and a production department that oversees the needs of our advertising clients, ensuring their product or service is given the best possible exposure in their chosen medium.

Kevin Ferguson
Chief Executive Officer

Welsh by birth, Kevin first came to South Africa to head up the local office of what was then Monarch Communications, a UK-based publishing house. Seeing that customer publishing was about to boom, Kevin assembled a small team that has since grown to be the country's most successful independent media company.

Tony Walker
Managing Director

Tony joined as a publishing manager in 1998 and is now the company’s managing director. With an affinity for embracing new technology and creating dynamic cost systems, Tony has been an integral part of Highbury Media's successful expansion.

Bilqees Allie
Production Director

Bilqees joined the company in 1998 as ad traffic controller on three magazines. She went on to become the production manager and, in 2010, was invited to join the board of directors as production director. 

Lindsey Makrygiannis
Financial Director

As a chartered accountant, Lindsey gained international work experience in the fields of corporate finance, learning and development. She joined Highbury Media in 2011 and is responsible for the management and strategy of the finance department.

Rizqah Jakoet
HR Director

Highbury Media employs over 200 people and, as HR Director, Rizqah's job is to make sure new talent is continuously identified and that the company's human resources are inspired and developed.

Tracey Stewart
Legal Advisor

Tracey practised as a commercial litigation attorney before joining Highbury Media, where she has expanded her commercial knowledge while using her legal background to ensure that the company's interests are protected.

Shane Keohane
Commercial Director

Since joining the company in 2009, Shane's portfolio has included service delivery to the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee, as well as directing the company's marketing and sports management divisions.

Clive Kotze
Sales Director

Since joining the company in 2002, Clive has worked to develop long-term relationships with his advertising clients, which include some of the world’s biggest luxury brands. He has recently been appointed Sales Director.


Gary Lemke
Senior Editorial Director (Sports)

Gary is the 2012 SAB Sports Media Print Journalist of the Year and author of two books. His portfolio at Highbury Media includes the editorship of Compleat Golfer and TFG SportsClub.

Patrick Farrell
Editorial Director (Business)

Patrick is responsible for Highbury Media's business titles, which include JSE, African Decisions, Mining Decisions, Business Day Empowerment, Business Day Earth and One Africa, One Voice- the magazine of the Pan-African Parliament.
