Wine industry excellence showcased in Signature

30 December 2013 in Lifestyle

It is South Africa's most prestigious annual wine industry award and one that is covered extensively each year in Signature. The Diners Club Winemaker of the Year Awards showcases the best of the best and 2013’s offering is no different.

The latest issue of Signature brings in-depth features on every aspect of this year’s offering. Meet Monsieur Andre Reboul wine aficionado and international judge of this year’s awards on page 122, and on page 126 Lisa Templeton speaks to five of the finalists about how they create their unique and impressive non-Bordeaux Red Blends.

And then on pages 133 and 142, you’ll read all about Christiaan Groenewald of New Cape Wines and Murray Barlow of Rustenberg Wines – Winemaker of the Year and Young Winemaker of the Year respectively. ‘I’m fascinated by the fact that the same cultivar can taste and smell so different, simply by using different techniques and yeasts,’ says Christiaan in his Q&A with Signature editor Jayne Nankivell.
