Island paradise found in AA traveller

29 November 2013 in Lifestyle

Réunion, a tiny volcanic sliver of France in the Indian Ocean, may seem idyllic, but it’s not for the faint-hearted. HSM staff writer Erin Coe tells her story in ‘Pardon my French’ (page 60) in the World Travel section of the Summer 2013/14 issue of AA traveller.

‘The woman next to me is looking a bit green. I don’t blame her. We’re in a helicopter above the cirques of Réunion: wild Mafate, tropical Salazie and rocky Cilaos. A flip like this is not for those with weak stomachs. Created by millions of years of volcanic pressure, these calderas spread out like a three-leafed clover begging to be explored.’
