HSM’s top photo of the year by Andreas Eiselen

19 December 2013 in Photography

At the recent HSM staff party and awards ceremony, Andreas Eiselen took home the Best Photograph award for 2013. The winning picture was taken on the beautiful Saronsberg Wine estate just outside of Tulbach.

'Early morning mist covered the Tulbach valley and surrounding landscape on the morning I arrived at Saronsberg,' says Andreas. 'Fearing that I had wasted an early start and quite a bit of petrol for a fruitless morning, I decided it would be best to hang around and wait for the mist to clear. And as the cliche gos: good things come to those who wait. I was greeted with this beautiful scene. Not a breath of wind, and to top it off a couple of the farm workers had started to tend the vineyards to finish off an already breathtaking shot.'

After travelling across Europe Andreas returned to South Africa to study photography at the National College of Photography in Pretoria. After completing his studies, Andreas worked as a freelance photographer in the Gauteng area, building both his knowledge and reputation. Andreas joined the HSMimages team after moving to Cape Town in 2011.
