HSM heroes donate almost 15 litres of blood

07 November 2013 in General

The CRC Blood drive in association with the Western Province Blood Transfusion Group (WPBTG) was a corporate triumph. This was HSM's second blood drive this year and staff were more than willing to give of their time (and fluids). A total of 30 volunteers put their hands up for donations with each contribution made up of 475 ml of blood – a total 14.25 litres for the day.

The WPBTG came fully equipped with their mobile workstations and beds, with tea and biscuits for the brave volunteers. Sisters and nurses briefed each donor thoroughly before checking their iron levels and blood pressure.

HSM will continue to support the WPBTG into 2014 as a staple event organised by the CRC. A huge thank you to all the courageous staff who braved the needles for the greater good.
